HOW TO ORDER, SHIPPING, AND OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION

Frequently Asked Questions
Before you place an order please take time to read the following information in addition to our LEGAL STATEMENT. By placing an order, it is deemed that you have read and accepted the Terms and Conditions set out herein.

Who are the artists?

Darwin Monkey is a collection of Darwin-related works by:

Hugo Rheinhold (1853–1900)

Brian Caster

Jemma Pearson

Are the bronze statues actually bronze?

Yes, they are 100% solid, high quality bronze. Not cold cast. Not a cheap amalgam. Pure bronze, cast using the Lost-wax casting method. Chasing, Spruing, Metal-chasing and all stages in the procedure are carried out manually by skilled artists and technicians. Feel free to contact with any queries about the manufacturing of your statue.

How do I place an order?

PLEASE MAKE CONTACT VIA EMAIL enquiries@darwinmonkey.com

How do I pay?

Our preferred payment method is by PayPal, so you can easily use your PayPal account if you have one, and benefit from the reassurance that provides. However, all fees must be handled by you, so the statue price PLUS fees is your total cost.

How much is VAT?

The price quoted for each statue includes VAT at the standard UK rate.

How much is shipping?

The price quoted for each statue includes the cost of packaging and shipping within mainland UK (England, Wales and parts of Scotland, excluding Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly). For other UK destinations (Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly) and overseas (worldwide), you may need to pay a shipping surcharge.

How much time does it take?

The estimated time to cast and finish your statue is provided near the BUY button on the statue page. It will say something similar to, "Available to commission. Estimating dispatch within 12 weeks". These are fine works of art, so when you submit your order, you are commissioning artists working in one of the foundries to create your statue. The process to do so is very delicate and accurate, while also bringing together the artistry of the original artist and that of the artist working in the foundry, who will also require technical knowhow to ensure the casting will work and the fine details are not lost. While we aim to provide your statue within or as close to the estimated time to dispatch, we prefer not to hurry, so we can ensure the quality of your statue is the highest possible. However, if you have particular need of the statue by a certain date, please let us know in advance, and we will be able to advise if it is possible.

Do you accept returns?

Yes. In the unlikely event that you are not completely satisfied with your statue, please make contact immediately to arrange its return. A refund will be issued when and only after we receive the returned statue. The refunded amount will be net administration and shipping costs. To clarify, you must bear the cost of returning the statue to us. We take these precautions because all statues are dispatched only after being confirmed that they meet our high quality standards. Returns must be repackaged with the original packaging and to the same level of protection afforded by the original packaging. Please make contact to be sent the returns address.
