An extraordinary sculpture, made for you.
Each Edinburgh Affe mit Schädel is made to commission, bringing Hugo Rheinhold's remarkable sculpture into a new home, study or collection.
From the first enquiry to the completed bronze, the arrangements are handled personally. You deal directly with Darwin Monkey, while the casting and finishing are entrusted to Powderhall Bronze in Edinburgh, a specialist fine-art foundry whose craftsmanship is central to the quality of the finished work.
Commissioning is straightforward. There is no need to make a commitment simply to enquire, and questions about the sculpture, its production or its delivery are always welcome.
A personal process, from beginning to end.
Commissioning an Edinburgh bronze is a conversation rather than a complicated ordering procedure. Every sculpture follows the same broad journey, but the practical arrangements can be discussed individually.
Your enquiry
Contact Darwin Monkey to express your interest or ask any questions. We can discuss the sculpture, its dimensions and finish, the intended destination and any practical considerations. You will receive a personal reply rather than an automated sales response.
Arranging the commission
Once you are ready to proceed, we confirm the details of your commission, including the production schedule, payment arrangements and delivery destination. An Edinburgh bronze typically takes around 14 weeks to produce, although exceptional circumstances can occasionally affect the timetable. Everything is agreed before the work is put in hand.
Casting and finishing
Powderhall Bronze undertakes the casting, chasing, assembly and patination. The sculpture passes through the foundry's established fine-art bronze-making process, with its details carefully finished and the completed work inspected before dispatch.
Darwin Monkey remains involved throughout, liaising with the foundry and keeping you informed of meaningful progress.
Delivery
Once the bronze is complete, it is carefully packaged and dispatched to its new owner. Worldwide delivery is included in the price of your bronze, with arrangements made according to the destination and the requirements of transporting a fine-art bronze.
The process concludes when the finished sculpture reaches its new owner, not simply when it leaves the foundry.
